God of War fans are eager to get their hands on the next big installment to the franchise. God of War Ragnarok is coming next year, and with it, we’ll close out the Norse mythology. However, fans have spotted that Kratos has bulked up quite a bit since his time in the 2018 God of War release and this upcoming installment. A new comparison photo shows off the character and how he’s been preparing for war.
Kratos never looked small in these video games. He was always built like a tank. However, you can notice a difference between the 2018 character model of Kratos and the upcoming Ragnarok character model. Some serious pounds of muscle has been added to Kratos, and fans appreciate that this small little detail is going along the lines of the narrative storyline. If you don’t recall, God of War 2018 had Kratos and his family free from any real danger.
There wasn’t much of a reason to prepare for any battles against monstrous foes or gods. However, the game starts with the Norse gods uncovering the presence of Kratos. Now we know that some time has passed between events, and during that time, it looks like Kratos has been working hard to get back into an even better overall fighting shape. As he prepared himself for Ragnarok, it looks like Kratos has knocked off the rust.
God of War Ragnarok takes place three years after the events of the 2018 God of War release. Now players are looking to prevent Ragnarok from happening, but it will mean tracking down the Norse God of War, Tyr. For now, we don’t have a specific release date for this game quite yet. Currently we will receive the game in 2022. With that said, when it does release, players can expect the game for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms.
