Microsoft has announced that "the Xbox experience is coming to Windows", with Windows 10 and the Xbox App for the new operating system offering cross-platform multiplayer and game DVR.
Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, presented part of the Windows 10 briefing and discussed how gaming will evolve thanks to the new operating system. The Xbox App will be the focal point of the ecosystem Microsoft's trying to build with Windows 10 and will be available on every Windows PC with the OS.
The Xbox App will help you organise your games, show what your friends are up to, browse achievements, and view and share recorded clips. The Xbox One's DVR feature will also be compatible with the app.
Games like Fable Legends, confirmed today for PC, will offer cross-platform play between Windows 10 and Xbox One devices. Xbox One games can able be streamed to any Windows 10 device beginning later this year, including phones and tablets.
Microsoft has also announced that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users.
