From Software have released the alpha manual for Bloodborne, bringing to light new details regarding the game’s cooperative mode.
Coop is instigated with four items:
· Bell of Dream Summoning
· Small Bell of Resonating
· Blank Ammunition of Farewell
· Memoir
As much as three players can play if the two bells are used. The player using the Bell of Dream Summoning is the host, and the other two are guests using the Small Bell of Resonating.
When you use the Bell of Dream Summoning, you will see an effect at your feel. The bell will resonate when a player responds, and that is when coop begins.
If you are using the Small Bell of Resonating to join a game, you should also see an effect at your feet. The bell will also resonate for you when a host has been found.
Either way, you can cancel coop requests by repeating your action. You will also want to stay still since that’s the only way you can see the effect at your feet.
Coop ends when the area boss is defeated, the host or one of the guests die, or when the host uses the Blank Ammunition of Farewell.
As you may have guessed, you can use Memoirs to leave messages for other players, by combining words and sentences and placing them in the ground. You can always check logs for all Memoirs you wrote, as well as all Memoirs you have read. You can also rate Memoirs as good or bad, and read the ratings other players have left behind.
Graves and ghosts are also elements, with graves appearing at locations where players have died, and ghosts of the fallen players occasionally appearing every now and then.
Bloodborne will be released on March 24 exclusive to PlayStation 4.
