Flying Wild Hog's explained the reasoning behind the absence of Hard Reset from consoles.
The studio's co-founder and programmer, Klaudiusz Zych, cites the age of current generation console as the reason behind Hard Reset's PC exclusivity. He told NowGamer:
It's a PC exclusive. The content is just too heavy to run on 5-year-old hardware in consoles. Hard Reset was only announced last month, but is so far along in development that it's due to launch in September – and the short promotional window has helped indie studio Flying Wild Hog to do what it does best.
He added on why the shooter received such a late reveal:
We could focus on making a game and polishing it. We are a small indie studio, so we wouldn't have the resources to hype our game for a year or more."
Zych also confirmed Hard Reset will only feature single-player and an average playthrough ranges approximately 8-10 hours. The game releases this September.
