Telltale Games has announced that Game of Thrones will be released for PS4 and Xbox One, in addition to the previously confirmed Mac, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and iOS versions of the episodic title.
The developer has simply stated that the first episode will be available for download on all of those platforms "soon". Alongside confirmation of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, Telltale has revealed story details in a blog post on their website, which confirms we will be playing as House Forrester.
The studio wrote:
"The events in our game series begin towards the end of Season Three of the TV show, and end right before the beginning of Season Five. You will visit familiar locations such as King's Landing and The Wall, as well as unfamiliar locations such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.
"House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros. Bannermen to House Glover, they have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North – the Starks. The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees."
In the game you'll play as five members of House Forrester and while the family has not appeared in the TV show, they are a canon part of the Song of Ice and Fire universe, having been mentioned in A Dance With Dragons, the fifth book in George RR Martin's saga.
It was recently confirmed that Game of Thrones will have six episodes.
