This week, Sakurai’s Miiverse posts are now staunchly focused on Super Smash Bros for the Wii U.
On Monday, Shulk’s alternate colors were revealed. In the same way that Lucina’s color variations are based on other female characters in Fire Emblem Awakening, Shulk’s colors are based on other male characters in Xenoblade Chronicles. Of course, the exception is Naked Shulk, which is based on how he was found in the beginning of the game.
On Tuesday, Sakurai shared the Special Smash rules screen, giving us an idea of what can be modified in the game. This screen shows what options are available for the characters.
On Wednesday, Classic Mode was explained. There is a battle coliseum laid out like a game board, with clusters of different characters assembled around what stages they will be in. After each battle, losers are blown away from the field, but you can bring them back in to fight with you. This feature was designed to leverage the game’s eight multiplayer capability.
On Thursday, Sakurai dropped a sight gag involving the Sable Prince, which you can see here.
Lastly, today Sakurai reshared information from the gigantic 50 New Things Super Smash Bros Direct. He showed the screen which you use to draw lines in to create stages.
Super Smash Bros for Wii U will be released on November 21.
