Hammerfall Publishing and Games Workshop have shared new animations for upcoming game Warhammer 40,000 Regicide.
The Sydney based studio is still working on the upcoming strategy game, but they wanted fans to see that progress was going quite well. These videos show a Devastator Marine and Ork Weirdboy animated in firing loops. These are likely to look very similar to how these two units will attack in the final game.
Games Workshop’s tabletop miniatures franchise have been in games since the ‘80s, but most recently made its mark with the Dawn of War real time strategy games by THQ in the 2000s. While Regicide will also be a strategy title, Hammerfall will be adding tweaks to the formula.
For example, combat enters several phases, allowing you to power up your units and make use of psychic abilities before using physical attacks. Its single player is also driven by the Codex AI engine.
Regicide will have a single player campaign, called Blood Angels, and promises to have cross-platform multiplayer.
Warhammer 40,000 Regicide has no planned release date or platforms for now, but is it is most likely it is coming to PC, and possibly mobile.
