Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto San Andreas will be re-released for Xbox 360 following speculation yesterday after the game's achievement list leaked online.
Some players noted that the game had been removed from the Xbox Marketplace and now Rockstar has announced that an updated version will be launched as part of Games on Demand from October 26th.
Despite the fact that the original will never again be available for download on the Xbox 360, the re-release offers improved graphics with a 720p resolution, enhanced draw distances, and, as the leaked achievement list suggested, full achievement support.
To celebrate San Andreas's 10th anniversary Rockstar is hosting a weekend-long celebration of the game in Grand Theft Auto Online, including double GTA$, double RP, and special clothing.
If you've moved on from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, you won't have to wait long for your Grand Theft Auto fix as GTA5 releases for the console on November 18th. It seems there are no plans to bring the San Andreas re-release to PS3 or other platforms at this point.
