CD Projekt RED has shared the rare response to an anon regarding The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This follows allegations that the game has secretly been in crunch time for some time now.
Although the allegations come from an anonymous source in a NeoGAF, they may have to be taken seriously. NeoGAF’s administrators have apparently vetted the source. We do not know exactly how NeoGAF went about vetting, but it is reasonable to speculate that he or she may be a former or current employee in the company, or working for a company connected to them.
The anon posted in a thread sharing screenshots of the game. Anon claims CD Projekt RED’s PR is misrepresenting the game’s development, with pictures and video that do not actually come from the game itself. Development itself has actually been in crunch for over a year.
CD Projekt RED’s head of communications, Michal Platkow-Gilewski, points out that they do not comment on stories like these on principle. Michal asks fans to look i[ the 35 minute gameplay video they shared at E3, SDCC, Gamescom, and other places. Said preview can be easily found online in several places, including CD Projekt RED’s own YouTube channel. Michal also tells fans to check out the reactions from other fans who got to see the gameplay demo themselves.
We covered the 35 minute demo last August. You can check it out for yourself here.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on February 2015 on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
