Halo Reach and Halo 3: ODST Could Come to Xbox One After Fan Requests

Halo: The Master Chief Collection releases this November but the package won't include either Halo Reach or Halo 3: ODST. However, 343 Industries' Dan Ayoub says the developer has received enough requests about those game to consider bringing them to Xbox One. 

Speaking to VideoGamer today, the studio's executive produce said that enough people "have asked about it that we are thinking about it".

Explaining why those games aren't included in the Master Chief Collection, Ayoub continued, "With Halo 5 coming out we really wanted to focus on those Master Chief-centric games. That was part of it. Quite honestly, the other part of it was just disc space. We're squeezing everything we can out of the available space for this thing."

While it's possible that both Halo Reach and Halo 3: ODST will make their way to Xbox One eventually, 343 Industries isn't planning on porting either game at the moment. 

"What I can tell you is probably the biggest question we get from people is, what about ODST and Reach," he added, "What I can say is it's certainly not in our development timeline or planning right now [but] we've heard that question so much that it has seeped into our collective subconscious. I think enough people have asked about it that we are thinking about it."

Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes four games; Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4. The package is set for release on Xbox One on November 11th in North America and November 14th in Europe. 

Meanwhile, Halo: Reach will be available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox 360 until the end of this month as part of the Games With Gold program.
