343 Industries has shared their latest footage of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The video demonstrates progress on the remastering of one of the series’ most popular maps, Lockout.
Lockout is set on the frozen mountaintops of Delta Halo. On an old research laboratory originally created by the Forerunners, players braved ice, snow, steep heights and cramped quarters to play some of the most intense matches in the game.
The map has several structures that go up three levels, with wide openings to make targeting and shooting easy. As more players come in, gameplay gets more and more chaotic. Ideally, players will want to get to the top as much as possible. Not only does it offer the best view, it gives those on top the opportunity to hit their enemies with surprise attacks.
Lockout is particularly popular because, in spite of the potential chaos, this map is generally straightforward. Close range weapons are more than enough to do the job. When you bring in longer range weapons, they become power weapons.
For the remastered version of Lockout, 343 Industries has added a view enhancements. As they demonstrate in this map, you can shoot at the snow and use that to take out your enemies.
