Tom Clancy’s The Division will have rappelling as a game mechanic.
It’s possible that Ubisoft’s inspiration for adding rappelling into the game is the Rainbow Six series. The game’s trailers have yet to show rappelling in action, so Ubi might still be polishing this mechanic.
Ubisoft has clarified that The Division will definitely be releasing on 2015, to quash any fears it might take until 2016. Our source believes Ubi will follow Destiny’s timetable, releasing a beta early on before releasing the full game in the same year.
Ubi did express interest in the beta. Of course, they want to make sure all the online features work as intended, and doing so would require having a beta. They fell short of confirming it and giving a date for it, but it seems highly likely that a beta is coming soon.
Customization will be worked on at a later point in the development process. Our source hopes that Red Storm Entertainment’s involvement in the title means that the game will get customization similar to that found inGhost Recon: Future Soldier.
Ubi has mentioned this before, but they again stress that the game will have no cinematics. In its place will be the Echo system, which will serve the same function of laying out the story for the players.
Although the city will have pockets of survivors, it is described as a ‘dead place’. There will be very few NPCs to interact with.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is coming to Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on 2015.
