Sony Online Entertainment has posted a new dev diary, looking at the evolution of the town of Pleasant Valley during production in H1Z1.
Developer Roel Jovellanos writeL
"As more and more buildings get completed Pleasant Valley is starting to take shape. Earlier last week Paul Cammish added apartments to the residential section of the city and John Roy flushed out some of the single family neighborhoods. This week I am tackling the commercial center where much of the former, now undead, residents of this town make their living."
One of Jovellanos's addition is an office block with cubicles, monitors, and other standard equippment which he will do a "grunge pass over the textures to give them the look of age a wear" after six months of abandonment.
Some shop fronts and a police station will be added before Main Street, Pleasant Valley is complete. You can have a look at ne of the game's supermarkets here.

The image seems to suggest that players should have a smoother ride when they play the game though the start up frames are rather high.
H1Z1 is bound for PC and PlayStation 4.
