Designer Nobuaki Komoto has shared details regarding Patch 2.3 for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, as well as what is planned next for the future of Eorzea. Balancing issues are rife in the game world, but Square has been careful with what to modify to fix things.
First off, regarding Mob Hunts, Square will not increase Elite mark rewards, or other ways to get Allied Seals. What they will do is speed up FATEs, and raise daily mark rewards. They are also looking into the common situation wherein the marks die too quickly, and players compensate by relying on HP increases.
After patch 2.35, players will be able to use vanity on Frontlines PVP. They will also arrange so that PVP actions and traits will be saved between jobs, starting points will be randomized, and more maps and rules will be added in eventually.
Coil of Bahamut is ending in 2.4, and Crystal Tower is ending in 2.5. For Syrcus Tower, however, the two loot systems will stay as they are since they are considered upgrades.
And now, for what comes next. Ninja gameplay will be coming up in patch 2.4, as well as the Gold Saucer, which will come with a batch of mini games, dragoon balancing, more crafting materials in dungeons, and a costume from a famous Final Fantasy character which is probably Cloud Strife because who else could it possibly be even Lightning dressed up as him.
Square Enix is also looking at starting up a 14 day trial and a referral program, but that won’t be starting until next year.
