There's a lot to want out of Fallout 4. Better graphics, better storytelling, and more memorable characters. These are just a few things off the top of my head that I'd like to see in the upcoming game, which has enough evidence to suggest that it's in development at Bethesda.
While browsing Tumblr for Fallout 4 related news, as one does, we stumbled across a number of confessions secretly confiding the author's hopes and wishes for the inevitable Fallout 4.
We've taken the time to detail our own hopes for Fallout's future before, but nonetheless we found much to identify with. Here are some of the best ones, from the "it'll never happen" to the "aw damn I wish I'd thought of that".
Feel free to share your own confessions in the comments below!
“In Fallout I care more about rescuing old robots than about people. I cleared out Paradise Falls and made it into a robot sanctuary. They’re just so cute. I can’t wait to liberate the next generation of robots in Fallout 4!”
“The next Fallout should have the option to haggle for better prices. The higher the barter skill, the lower the price.”
“I hope the weapon specific kills from Skyrim are in a future Fallout. I want to grab an enemy from behind and put a hole through his chest with a ballistic fist, to kick a raider to his knees and put one through his head with the ranger sequoia, to slice a Ghoul’s hand off then bury a katana in his guts, or to cut a super mutant in two with a gatling laser.”
“The first time I played Fallout 3 I was in love. There will never be a video game that gives me that feeling again. (Except maybe Fallout 4).”
“I sure hope in Fallout 4 they will give our player the ability to sprint. I want the feeling of running for my life away from a group of deathclaws chasing me.”
“I would rather wait for Bethesda to release Fallout 4 on the next generation of consoles and PCs than have them put another game out on the current hardware. I want to see not only better graphics, but also a bigger world with more accessibility.”
"I don’t care where Fallout 4 is set, as long as they make one and they make it soon. I’ve played way too much new vegas and Fallout 3."
"There should be at least forty songs in Fallout 4, or a large database to choose from. I get a little fed-up with New Vegas when I have to hear ‘Johnny Guitar’ three times in a row."
"I really hate it when people say they want Skyrim’s (insert feature here) in Fallout 4 or the previous ones, the only thing people should want from Skyrim is graphics. Don’t get me wrong, I love Skyrim, but putting lets say there leveling system in Fallout wouldnt make any sense. fallout is fallout because it has its own features that make it Fallout and not Skyrim."
"I hope we get an ED-E in Fallout 4. I just love the little guy."
"I hope in Fallout 4 there are less options for companions provided we get more to do with them than just the one or two quests. I want more interaction. More reaction to what you do and how it affects your relationship."
"Naturally, like everyone else, I am totally excited for Fallout 4. However, the one thing that I’m most excited about doesn’t happen to be the story or the gameplay, but the soundtrack. It’s nothing against the game, it’s just the fact that the soundtracks for FO3 and New Vegas were so brilliant, that I can’t wait to see what it’ll be next."
I’m really excited for Fallout 4, but I kind of hope it’s in another huge city. I really like the desert and all, but the Capital Wasteland was much, much more interesting and scary to explore. I absolutely loved wandering through dying buildings and being surprised by Super Mutants or their horrible Centaurs. Also: More non-feral ghouls.
"Everyone checks the internet on a daily basis. I’m sure of it. They check the news, their email or what-have-you. Me? Every morning as soon as I wake up I quickly check all of the credible fallout sites looking for three little words: Fallout 4 DETAILS."
“I really hope that the next Fallout will have much better character customization. Things like more hairstyles, skin dirtiness, scars, old tattoos, blinded eyes, tribal markings, everything, so you could really create a true wastelander. Sure, there are mods for that, but most of them aren’t lore-friendly. I just connect with a roleplaying character so much more if I really get to construct them piece by piece.”
