Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: Fans Ask Sledgehammer To Fix Ghosts’ Mistakes

June 26, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Fans know exactly what to tell Sledgehammer when they asked for feedback for online multiplayer.

Michael Condrey has made the call for fans to give them their suggestions for multiplayer on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. As you can imagine, fans were eager to give them that feedback.

For the most part, fans indicate their exasperation with Call of Duty Ghosts  and frame their requests to fix what was done wrong in Ghosts withAdvanced Warfare. Apparently the bar has been set low, so as long as they don’t repeat the same mistakes Ghosts did, fans will already be happy.

Particular requests that keep coming up related to Ghosts (because they were missing in the game) are Broadcaster Mode, Capture The Flag, League Play, Hardpoint and a return to the previous scorestreaks system.

Another common complaint seems to be knifing. In Ghosts, knifing is too powerful, with pulling a knife out in panic being way too effective than it should be. Some fans argue to bring it back to Black Ops 2 levels, while others react that that’s then way too weak. A balance between the two may be preferable.

Another interesting suggestion is cribbing the Oddball mode from the Halo games. The way this mode works is there is a ball in the middle of the map, two teams fight for possession, the longer a team hangs onto it the more points they get.

Finally, of course, there’s a lot of interest in gearing multiplayer for competitive play. Call of Duty has a huge following on its own, and is already a huge part of eSports, but to bring it to the level a community like Starcraft has, it still needs to be tweaked a little bit more.

You can read more suggestions (and they are copious) here. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is coming to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 4.
