EA Games and Maxis have put out a new trailer for The Sims 4, showcasing the game’s powerful Build Mode, which allows players to construct and customize their very own home.
The video, which you can see below, is a follow-up to the first trailer, which detailed character creation. Much like the game’s character creation system, Build Mode has been completely overhauled to allow players much more variety in constructing the home of their dreams, while providing you with tools necessary to accomplish your goals that much faster.
Instead of laying down walls and floor plans in a slow and arduous fashion, the game’s new Build Mode allows you to place walls or even entire rooms and pull them into your desired shape. There are even pre-made rooms for you to select from to speed up the process. Resizing these rooms will cause the game to intelligently redistribute furniture within it, so you’ll no longer have to worry about moving out your furniture before working on your house. It’s seriously industrious.
Other changes to the mode include the ability to set walls at three different heights, and the ability to install windows in a room with a single click. You can, of course, move these windows around, reshape the roof, and add foundations at your convenience.
Expect to see much more of The Sims 4 at next month’s E3 2014 event. Stick around for details.
