Blades of Excalibur, China's most popular game of 2013, will be available in North America next month. People can get their hands on the demo via the game's YouTube page.
While it's not exactly a YouTube video as most people expect, the game is still pretty enjoyable. It's a simple hack-n-slash side scroller that'll definitely be a fun way to pass time.
It's a cool way to make the demo accessible to people looking at the videos of the game without having to jump into another site or downloading the demo. On the other hand, it would be fun if YouTube actually allowed people to upload more interactive videos. It is quite possible to do this in a "choose your own adventure" sort of way wherein choices are hyperlinked to other videos. XCOM: Enemy Unknown did something quite similar in the past.
Lastly, the best part of this demo is that you can save your progress and continue where you left off by giving them your e-mail.
There is no specified release date for the game, but people can sign up for their closed beta.
