Ubisoft has just published its FY14 Earnings Presentation, with details about which games were successful (as well as those that weren’t so successful) this year, and among the juicy bits of information they released was the reveal that Far Cry 4 would be coming out this year.
The publisher revealed that Far Cry 4 will be out in FY15, on November 18. It’s described as “a new step towards the revolution of the shooter genre” and is set for release on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Though it appears to be a cross-gen, rather than next-gen game, the lead platform has not been disclosed.
The game’s lead studio is Montreal, followed by Red Storm, Toronto, Shanghai, and Kiev, and the goal of the company is for it to be one of the top 10 best-selling games of the year.
In line with previous rumors about the game, Far Cry 4 appears to be set in the Himalayas and features a blond-haired, suited antagonist on the cover art, surrounded by guns and heavy assault weapons. He has his hand resting on the head of another man who appears to be injured, with rope around his wrists. The game has a PEGI 18 rating on the cover.
We expect further details about the game to be disclosed shortly.
