Want to Buy Oculus Back from Facebook? Donate to Frog Fractions 2

March 26, 2014 by Josiah Renaudin

A satirical stretch goal has been added to the Frog Fractions 2 Kickstarter campaign.

If you’re furious over Facebook’s acquisition of Oculus Rift – which was purchased for a cool $2 billion – you might want to consider pledging some of your cash to the Frog Fractions 2 Kickstarter campaign. The sequel to one of last year’s most bizarre flash games has just added a new satirical stretch goal, claiming that the team will buy Oculus back from Facebook if it can reach $2 billion in funding (via GameSpot).

This is obviously a joke, and almost certainly a goal that the game could never reach. As of now, Frog Fractions 2 is sitting at $43,000 of its $60,000 goal, so the game itself will likely get made. But this crazy scheme – as well as stretch goals like “A sweet gravity gun” – probably won’t happen.

If you listened to one of the founders of Oculus, though, you might think that this Facebook purchase is the best thing that could happen to VR. There are plenty of conflicting opinions, but it’s difficult to tell the long-reaching implications of yesterday’s news until some time passes.
