Nintendo, the company that decided against putting on an E3 presentation in 2013, will be skipping this April’s PAX East convention. This will be the first time Nintendo will miss the show since the Boston-based event started in 2010.
"Interacting directly with our fans and letting them play our games firsthand is a key component of our approach," a spokesperson told Polygon. "That doesn't include PAX East this year, but we will offer our fans a variety of opportunities to get their hands on Nintendo products in 2014. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more information about where we'll be and what you can play."
The Mario maker has consistently had a strong presence at Penny Arcade’s show, bringing titles like Pikmin 3 and Animal Cross to last year’s event. Sony and Sega have also decided against attending PAX East this year, but both have confirmed some sort of presence during PAX Prime.
