Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Require 200 GB Of HDD Storage

September 2, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

CD Projekt Red community lead alerts fans about the anticipated game HDD requirements.

Easily one of the most anticipated video games releasing this year is Cyberpunk 2077. The video game title was such a massive hit when it was first unveiled that fans can’t wait to see how the next IP after their successful The Witcher trilogy handles. It’s seemingly quite the detailed and spacious game world for players to venture through and as a result, most fans may have assumed that this game would require quite a bit of storage space.

The Cyberpunk 2077 video game is no stranger to rumors, supposed leaks, and speculation pieces. Oftentimes, these pieces that go up online don’t get commented on by the development teams. However, one post that went up on Reddit recently had sparked some fan’s interest. It was a thread that suggested Cyberpunk 2077 will take 200 GB of your storage space. That would be quite the hefty chunk of space, but for a title like Cyberpunk 2077, fans were quick to find it to be about par with their own expectations.

While the @CyberpunkGame system requirements are not out yet (they are coming soon, though!), I wanted to address this topic from reddit. The game won't take up 200GB when installed. You can expect the required HDD space to be on par with other modern titles. pic.twitter.com/tRigjPWLfC

Today, Marcin Momot, the Global Community Lead for CD Projekt Red, has taken to his personal Twitter account in order to alert fans that Cyberpunk 2077 will not require up to 200 GB of storage space when installed. This should instead be a game considered to be on par with other modern video game titles releasing into the market. With that said, we’re still left without any PC system requirements for the title.

That should hopefully change soon as Marcin also made note that system requirements will be coming soon. With the next line of graphics cards unveiled by Nvidia, players may save quite a bit of money upgrading their PC rig this time around to potentially enjoy Cyberpunk 2077. At any rate, we’ll have to keep tabs on this game for news regarding its PC system requirements. As for when you can expect this title to release, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on November 19, 2020, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.
