Fans of The Elder Scrolls who are hoping to get their hands on the upcoming MMORPG from Bethesda and Zenimax Online Studios may have to get lucky through the closed beta signups if they hope to play the game, as Bethesda has just confirmed on its official website that the studios do not plan to launch an open beta for the game.
The FAQ section of TESO’s official website was updated today with the following detail, regarding the possibility of an open beta:
We will not be holding a traditional open beta, but if you sign up to participate in the ESO beta prior to launch and are eligible per our Terms of Service, you will get an invite to a future beta event.
If you’ve yet to receive an invite despite signing up for the closed beta, there are still ways to get in. Notably, you can get in through a giveaway on curse.com. The site purports to have 500,000 keys to give away, so head on over to their website.
The Elder Scrolls Online launches for the PC and Mac on April 4, 2014, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will come out in June 2014.
