The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can’t release on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. CD Projekt Red’s latest open-world title is pushing both the PC and next-generation consoles to new heights, and CEO Marcin Iwinski recently told MCV India that his team would have to make an entirely new, less impressive game to have it fit on older hardware.
"It’s impossible. It would have to be a different game–a smaller game, not an open-world game, or with terrible loading times, with sacrifices in graphics," he said.
This means that players will only be able to experience the thrills and chills of being a Witcher on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.What Iwinski did confirm, though, is that the differences between the PC and console versions of the game will be minimal.
“I think gamers on each platform will get an extremely good experience and they should be very satisfied with the quality," he said.
You can expect Geralt’s final quest later this year.
