Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One a week earlier than originally planned.
Legends will now be available on the new consoles from February 18th in North America and from February 21st in Europe.
Michel Ancel's platformer will have a number of new additions on PS4 and Xbox One including additional characters and timed achievements, lead game designer Emile Morel told the UbiBlog.
PS4 owners will be able to play as Assassin Ray, a hero inspired by Edward Kenway from Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag. Those who opt for the Xbox One version will gain access to Ray Vass and Far Glob, characters both inspired by Far Cry 3's Vass as well as Splinter Ray, a Sam Fisher-inspired hero.
Players on both consoles will be able to unlock Funky Ray through Uplay and gamers who score highly on the game's online leaderboards will also have the chance to acquire Champion Ray.
Rayman Legends will take advantage of platforms exclusive features such as timed achievements on Xbox One and the DualShock 4's touchpad.
