Bethesda marketing vice president Pete Hines has denied reports that The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is to be released on PS4 and Xbox One. Hines also added than an email claiming Bethesda are planning a special announcement on January 12th, which may be linked to Fallout 4, is a hoax.
On his Twitter account, Hines had this to say:
We have been working on the CMS that runs our sites. A bug caused platforms that don't exist to show up for some games Sorry for confusion.

Of course, both the PS4 and Xbox One exist and it's likely Hines means that Skyrim simply won't be available for them any time soon although ports aren't entirely out of the question at some point in the future. Regarding the announcement email he added:
Didn't realize I only tweeted about this as a reply: The email about a supposed announcement from us is another fan hoax.

It seems that Fallout fans will be left waiting for word of the game which, according to emails leaked before Christmas, is in development and will be set in Boston.
The latest false hope for the game follows a fake patent for the game and an elaborate ruse which saw website, TheSurvivor2299 leave a series of cryptic clues about the game before being revealed as a hoax.
