Deadpool from High Moon Studios has vanished from Steam, PlayStation Network, and the Xbox Live Marketplace.
The discovery was made by NeoGAF user Delusibeta and comes just days after the game, which received less-than-stellar reviews, was discounted in the Steam Holiday Sale.
PC gamers can still get access to the game through GameFly and Amazon codes while physical copies of Deadpool remain available.
It's possible that the removal was prompted by the expiration of the game's license which appears to have ended alongside 2013 but this has yet to be confirmed by Activision. Marvel licenses are typically time-limited offerings. Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC is permanently gone while the digital versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 have been removed from Xbox Live and PSN previously.
The game was released in June, 2013. Deadpool's disappearance follows the removal of classic Fallout titles from GOG.com on December 31st and illustrates one of the downsides of digital gaming.
