Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the more anticipated video game titles launching this year and it was a bit of a letdown for some fans when CD Projekt Red announced the game was delayed. This delay is going to give the team a bit more time to polish the title for its release and today we’re finding out that the game will have over 70 side quests. Each one will be unique and story-driven, which should give players an incentive in exploring the world outside of the campaign.
We knew beforehand that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to have side quests. In fact, CD Projekt Red had revealed that there was a team dedicated to just making side quests. While a lot of games released into the market throws in side quests, you usually expect the typical fetch quests like going to an area and picking up an item. That’s not going to be the case with Cyberpunk 2077 as each quest will have a unique story and they can be rather lengthy at times as well.
This team is striving to make sure the content is entertaining for players and some quests will be locked behind certain choices so there’s going to be an incentive in replaying the game in order to see other content. But as mentioned, there’s going to be quite a few side quests scattered about Night City as CD Projekt Red’s head of the studio, John Mamais, explained in an interview with OnMSFT.
According to John Mamais, players can expect little stories with the quests and not like the advanced cinematic storytelling sequences you would see in the main game campaign.
For now, we can expect the game to launch on September 17, 2020, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.
