Cyberpunk 2077 Has Been Delayed To September

January 16, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

The game is complete but needs to be polished.

Easily one of the most anticipated video game titles to launch this year and possibly the entire console generation is Cyberpunk 2077. The video game is being developed by CD Projekt Red, the same development studio that brought out The Witcher trilogy series. Now that the game is approaching its release date, the development studio has gone to its official Twitter account to alert fans that the game has been pushed back.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the future in a place called Night City. With crime, big corporations and greed running most of society, players step into the role of freelancer that takes on odd jobs to get a quick payday while risking their neck on the job. Being developed by CD Projekt Red, we know that the game will have quite a hefty storyline and in the past, the development studio has claimed that all the side quests will be created to offer a thrilling storyline rather than a simple retrieval type quests.

Unfortunately, we’re going to wait a bit longer before we’re able to get our hands on a copy of the game. CD Projekt Red had originally planned to launch the game on April 16, 2020, but now the title has been pushed to September 17, 2020. According to their tweet, it seems that Cyberpunk 2077 is complete and playable. What the studio has planned with this delay is to go in and complete more playtesting.

Being such a large game and one that is certainly hyped, it doesn’t surprise us that the studio would like to ensure that the game launches smoothly with as few bugs as possible. This is certainly been a month full of delay announcements so far. Not only do we have a longer wait to get Cyberpunk 2077, but Moons of Madness console ports have also been pushed back, along with Marvel’s Avengers, and the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
