Thanks to a wider geographical release, Microsoft’s Xbox One will become the biggest, fasting selling video game console when it launches Nov. 22. At least, that’s what Amazon believes, which is a retailer that likely knows a thing or two about sales figures. However, Microsoft won’t stay on top of the heap for long. Sony will be releasing the PS4 in Europe just a week later, which will help the already successful next-gen machine take the outright lead. The PS4 is currently top of Amazon UK’s PC and video games pre-order charts, with Xbox One sitting in fifth.
“The operation to deliver a new Xbox or PlayStation to Amazon customers on release day is well underway,” Amazon Europe VP Xavier Garambois said (via MCV). “The pre-orders we have seen for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 show that gamers across the UK are eager to be amongst the first to try out the latest gaming experience, and the much-anticipated release of these next generation consoles is guaranteed to lead to hours of gaming pleasure.”
With the holidays just around the corner, we should expect continued success for fresh hardware long after launch. This is going to be the biggest launch season of all time, and a next-gen battle that plenty of people will want to watch.
