Today MLB and Developers San Diego Studios have announced that its popular baseball simulator, MLB The Show series will no longer be a PlayStation 4 exclusive and is open to releasing on multi-platforms starting as early as 2021.
The news comes a bit abrupt and quite frankly as a big surprise as The Show Series has always been a marquee exclusive for the PlayStation platforms over the past years. Developments for other platforms will begin to take shift after this year’s release of MLB The Show 20, which is set to release March 17, 2020. As of right now, this is all we have with more details being announced at a later date.
With the news being out there, we have already seen both Microsoft and Nintendo twitter accounts hint that the game will perhaps release on both the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, which is a very interesting mashup, to say the least.
In related news, MLB The Show 20 will see Javier Baez, the Chicago Cubs Shortstop as the cover athlete star and will release exclusively on PlayStation 4 consoles on March 17, 2020.
