Developers might be just as excited about next-generation hardware as we are. New functionality, greater horsepower, and increased connectivity allow creators to do bigger, better things with the shiny technology, and lead producer on Peggle 2 Jared Neuss explains exactly how this will impact his game in a recent interview on the Xbox Wire.
“We're super excited to take advantage of all of the new platform functionality being introduced in this generation of hardware,” Neuss said. “Features like Game DVR and the new Challenge system give us a ton of freedom to create brand new experiences for our players.”
The Xbox One’s all-powerful Cloud has been one of Microsoft’s biggest talking points, and the puzzle game will take advantage of the massive network by being able to update on the fly.
“Having the ability to experiment with new features, functionality and quickly react to player feedback,” he said when asked how the new generation will affect the PopCap series. “We now have the ability to try new things, see if our fans like them, and then adapt the game in near-real time.”
It might be coming a little later than expected, but look to hear more on Peggle 2 in the coming weeks.
