Fire Emblem: Three Houses – How To Get Rare Blacksmith Materials | Forge Crafting Guide

August 8, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Craft powerful upgrades for the best weapons in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Here’s how to find more rare blacksmith materials.

As you gain Professor Ranks, you’ll unlock special ‘Forge’ upgrades at the Blacksmith in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. With special, rare materials you can upgrade your best weapons and make them even better. Rare weapons with magical properties can be enhanced with the Forge, but actually getting your hands on the right materials is tough.

Even if you play the entire game, you might never get some of these materials. They’re slightly hidden — to get rare forge materials, you need to perform a special, specific action on Giant Beasts, and Giant Beasts only. By breaking all four shield blocks on a Giant Beast, you’re guaranteed to earn a rare forge material. It’s a little weird, but learn which Giant Beasts drop which rare materials in the full guide below, and become a walking god of destruction with your souped-up swords.
