With simpler PlayStation 4 architecture, Eidos Montreal can focus more on developing Thief 4 and less on understanding the hardware. When speaking with the PlayStation blog, Stephane Roy discussed how they will use the DualShock 4's new features in Thief 4.
The DualShock 4 light bar will convey some information based on the player's actions. As players move through the environment and in and out of sight, the light bar will illuminate in different ways. If the player exposes Garret in the open, the light bar will light up; following the in-game gem that serves the same purpose.
Players will navigate menus using the DualShock 4 touchpad and to perform actions like selecting weapons. In Killzone: Shadow Fall, players swipe the touch pad in different directions to control the combat drone.
The DualShock 4 light bar may reflect off your television in certain lighting conditions – a feature with no disabling option.
