Peter Moore chimed in on the EA blog today to reveal the Battlefield 4 Open Beta, as well as dates for the next generation releases of their big transition titles, Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14 and Battlefield 4.
The Battlefield 4 open beta starts October 1, across Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game will then have its official release on October 29.
Battlefield, NFL and FIFA will arrive to next generation consoles at the same time, but with different dates per region. For Xbox One, the games arrive November 19 in North America, and then November 21 in Europe. For Playstation 4, the games arrive November 12 in North America, and then November 29 in Europe.
EA also wants to make assurances that should lessen your hesitation in getting the current generation versions of these games now if you are waiting for the next gen launches. They promise that you will be able to carry over content between generations when the new consoles are released. Furthermore, retailers will provide special deals that will allow you to upgrade your current gen version of the game to next gen for as little as $ 10. Take note that EA has set this up for Xbox 360 owners to move to Xbox One, and Playstation 3 owners to move to Playstation 4 only. No other combination of any of the abovementioned consoles, or any others, say the Vita, are possible.
EA’s deals with transferring over is not as sweet as being able to get the Playstation 4 version of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn for free if you have it on Playstation 3, but these are good options for consumers nonetheless. Does this make you want to bite the bullet now, or will you still be waiting it out?
