Former DICE producer Owen O'Brien, who worked on Mirror's Edge, has joined EVE Online developer CCP to help create Oculus Rift title EVE Valkyrie, GamesIndustry reports.
Valkyrie is being developed at CCP's Newcastle, UK studio and O'Brien said:
"The opportunity to work with a focused, talented and passionate team at the forefront of game-changing technology is a dream scenario for me.
"But it's not just about the technology. This was a project born out of a genuine passion for gaming, and that shows in what the team has already achieved."
CCP's senior vice president of production Sean Decker added "I worked with Owen for many years at DICE. His experience bringing Mirror's Edge to market will be invaluable as we work to make virtual reality an actual reality for gamers worldwide."
The company released free-to-play shooter Dust 514 for PS3 earlier this year as part of an expanded EVE universe. With reports that Sony is planning to release a virtual reality headset of its own for PS4 Valkyrie could also make its way to PlayStation.
