Cory Barlog, the director of God of War 2, has returned to the studio from Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics it has been announced on the PlayStation blog.
Barlog's extensive post announcing his return doesn't provide many clues as to what he's current working on but he states "We're putting together a team as I type this, an Ocean's 11 kind of thing. We are searching the world high and low for the best of the BEST to come and be on the ground floor of this endeavor."
While Sony Santa Monica is assisting God of War PSP developer Ready at Dawn with the production of PS4 title The Order: 1886 the studio has yet to announce its own projects for the console.
Battlestar Galactica writer Michael Angeli is working at the studio on an unannounced game most likely for PS4 and God of War: Ascension players have discovered a teaser to what appears to be a sci-fi themed game.
God of War will almost certainly arrive on Sony's next-gen console at some point down the line.
Earlier today Lord of the Rings actor Dominic Monaghan may have outed Naughty Dog's first PS4 title, commening on his excitement for a "new Uncharted."
