A few months ago, Namco Bandai and From Software put together a design contest in which would-be players of Dark Souls 2 could design shields for implementation into the game. The contest was split into three regions: Americas, Europe, and Japan/Asia, allowing fans of the series from all over the world to potentially contribute shields that would appear in the upcoming title.
Hundreds of shields were submitted, and those were narrowed down to a scant, but not-so-small number of 90 shields, with 30 per region in representation. Those shields can all be seen here.
Today, the design contest winners have been announced.
"For the first 6 winners of our Dark Souls II Shield Design Contest, picked by From Software themselves, they get: their own custom shield design in game, their name in the game credits and the game Dark Souls 2 signed by Dark Souls development team. For the top 3 per category, they win Dark Souls II signed by the dev team! Which one is your favorite?"
