Rocksteady is a well-known video game development studio who really became a force to be reckoned with thanks to their Batman IP release. Starting off with Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009, the series saw its last release in 2016 with Batman: Arkham VR. Since then, news regarding what the development studio is working on next has been silent. No one is shedding any light as to what we can expect from the developers next, but a new listing does reveal their next game will be a next-generation release.
Thanks to Gamerant, we are finding out that Rocksteady Studios is working on a brand new video game which is slated to launch on the next generation consoles. So it’s a safe bet that we won’t see Rocksteady’s next video game release launch for a few years.
These details were released through a means of job listings with Rocksteady looking for over twenty developers to work on a wide range of departments in order to bring out a next-generation platform title. This is not the first development studio to already confirm work on a next-generation video game title. For instance, Bethesda revealed that their highly anticipated video game title, The Elder Scrolls 6, wouldn’t be available until the next generation platforms released.
Unfortunately, details regarding the next generation Xbox and PlayStation platforms have yet to be unveiled. We’re also curious as to if this means Rocksteady Studios is passing up on Nintendo’s console hybrid release, the Nintendo Switch. Regardless, we’ll likely find more information about this Rocksteady Studios game next year.
