Guerilla Games, the studio behind Sony exclusives Horizon Zero Dawn and the Killzone Franchise are looking to “massively” expand the business.
Currently, the studio sits at around 250 permanent employees, but the business is looking at increasing that number by a further 150. This will allow the studio to push out new content (regardless of whether is it new or existing IP) at a rate of 2-3 years. This is compared to their recently released Horizon Zero Dawn which took the company a total of 6 years to produce.
“After Horizon Zero Dawn, we are accelerating,” Guerrilla’s CEO Herman Hulst told Dutch outlet Parool. “The best talents are coming to us, and last month we have already hired nine new people, but we also needed more space for our sound and motion tracking studios.”
“We have worked at Horizon for 6.5 years, which is exceptional,” Hulst continued. “We want to release games in the two or three years, both new titles and games based on existing titles.”
With the increase in employees comes a physical increase in offices, the studio will be moving to new premises with five floors, spanning a total of 7.300 square meters.
