It’s hard to not appreciate Platinum Games. The Japanese studio may not churn out multi-million dollar blockbusters, but the games that are produced are brimming with style and creativity. Their interpretation of the Metal Gear franchise found some success earlier this year in the form of Rising, and now, Platinum is teasing some big news for next week’s E3 event.
JP Kellams, the creative producer at Platinum Games who’s been a big part of many of the developer’s recent releases, took to Twitter to get the fans excited about the Los Angeles event. Big, AAA games tend to be the focus of the annual gaming showcase, but Kellams thinks that fans of Platinum should keep a close eye on the events that are soon to unfold.
“In E3 news, if you are a PG fan, next week is going to be awesome,” he recently Tweeted.
Unlike vocal Platinum employee Hideki Kamiya, Kellams is someone whose Tweets you can actually trust. This could mean that we’ll be learning more about the Wii U’s The Wonderful 101, which launches on Sept. 15, but we’d like to think that it’ll be something related to Bayonetta 2. The fans of this upcoming action title are passionate to say the least, so any new details on the Wii U title would be much appreciated by Nintendo fans.
If there are any new game announcements, we could see them on one of the Nintendo Directs happening in the near future. Otherwise, we’ll keep you updated on all Platinum Games news next week.
