Remember Me Dev: Our Game More Fighting, Less Running Than Mirror’s Edge

May 17, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

New media has been released for Capcom’s Remember Me, which launches next month.

Capcom’s Remember Me is just around the corner, and while we’ve seen plenty of media on this stealth-action game, a final round of information couldn’t hurt. The creative director at developer DONTNOD Entertainment has just taken to the PlayStation Blog to release a new interactive journal, as well as discuss the game with its fans in the post’s comment section.

If you haven’t heard, Remember Me takes place in Neo-Paris in 2084. Since it’s the future, people have been implanted with a memory device that lets them record everything experienced by their senses. These memories are, in turn, used as an odd type of currency in this high-tech world. Yes, things go wrong, thanks to the evil Memorize Corporation.

You can dig even deeper into the narrative through the new, interactive journal. The document is from the founder of Memorize, Antoine Cartier-Wells, and details his story from 2013 to 2084. If you’re interested, you can follow this link to give it a go.

If you haven’t noticed, there’s a bit of a Mirror’s Edge vibe in the game. The developers have noticed all the statements trying to compare the two games, and actually addressed the issue in the comments.

“I think the strong female protagonist and the setting in a bright, rather than a grimy, future have meant people have made this comparison,” developer JMax said. “In terms of the game, they are very different. There is a lot less running away and a lot more fighting in Remember Me!”

I have a feeling a few fans of Mirror’s Edge would disagree with his last statement. Either way, look to pick up Remember Me on PC (which now has released specs), Xbox 360, and PS3 June 4.
