A set of new, detailed screens of Ubisoft’s upcoming Watch Dogs project has been released before the line of planned previews make their way onto the internet. The shots display plenty of action, uses of technology, and even a fresh, female face that has yet to be shown in other media. Oh, and they all seem to be HD, so those only willing to stare at the most crisp, clear screenshots available are in luck.
There’s plenty to get excited about when it comes to this 2013 open-world adventure. First, Watch Dogs will be a large part of the PlayStation 4’s highly anticipated launch. Sure, it will be a cross-generational title as well, but the story of Aiden Pearce plans to take advantage of the power of the next generation. Players will follow the suave protagonist as he takes his fight to a never-before-seen part of Chicago, encountering new characters while trying to put his past to rest.
This could also be one of the many always-connected worlds that seem to be appearing. Similar to Bungie’s Destiny, Watch Dogs will supposedly be a game where a steady internet connection and strong player base will drive the experience. Now, that could lead to a few angry, offline customers, but as we move forward with technology, gaming experiences will have to adapt in order to push the envelope.
I bet you’re looking for a release date, too. Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs will be arriving on both current-generation and next-generation consoles (yes, that even includes Nintendo’s Wii U) Nov. 19.
