Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced just now that WB Games Montreal is developing Batman: Arkham Origins. The game is slated for release on the PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. There are no announced plans to release the game on next-generation consoles.
Batman: Arkham Origins is the next title in the on-going series of Batman games which began with Arkham Asylum. The series was originally developed by Rocksteady. It is the first game in the series to be developed outside of the aforementioned studio.
Origins is set many years before the events of Arkham Asylum and its sequel, with players taking on the role of a much younger Batman who meets many of the series' colorful cast of villains for the first time.
In addition to Batman Arkham Origins, Warner Bros. is also publishing a spin-off title called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS. Both Origins and Blackgate are set for release on October 25, 2013.
Screenshots of the games are not yet available. It's just the logo for now.
