Demon’s Souls sequel, Dark Souls, coming to the Xbox 360

February 1, 2011

Dark Souls will not be a PlayStation 3 exclusive and will instead be bound for both the PS3 and Xbox 360

Demon's Souls is one of the most challenging new games to hit the PlayStation 3. Known mostly for its heartless difficulty, the game will be seeing a sequel that's allegedly twice as hard in the form of a sequel called Dark Souls.

Unlike the original game, Dark Souls will not be a PlayStation 3 exclusive and will instead be bound for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles and is being published globally by Japanese publisher Namco Bandai rather than Atlus.

The game's developer, From Software, reports that Japan will only be seeing a release on the PS3 version, which makes sense considering the 360's lack of penetration in the country. No European and American release dates have been given thus far, but it wouldn't be surprising if it came out before the end of the year.
