The latest issue of Japan's monthly manga magazine CoroCoro has some choice new details for Pokémon fans, including information on the upcoming installments in the core series, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Also in the issue was the announcement of a sequel to Pokémon Rumble, Nintendo's 2009 WiiWare game that pitted wind up Pokémon against one another in battle, allowing players to recruit new ones to their army along the way.
Entitled Pokémon Rumble U, it will support over 100 Pokémon on screen at once and include up to four players. Like the original, it will be available only as a download. So far it's only been announced for Japan, but given that it's a digital title with a presence already in the U.S., we'll likely see it on North American shores at some point in the future.
Pokémon Rumble was notoriously ugly, even by the Wii's standard, so this new Wii U version will likely be much easier on the eyes than the original. Whether it will improve the sluggish and ultimately boring gameplay though remains to be seen. It is expected sometime this upcoming spring in Japan.
