BioWare has plans to expand the Mass Effect franchise, but beyond creating an all new game, the studio has announced a Mass Effect-themed Risk board game. BioWare has put out a prototype image of the box it'll be in.
The studio has released few details about the upcoming board game, except to say that it's set for release later this year.
The company updated the official Mass Effect Facebook wall with the following: "Oh yes, it's real, and it's coming this Fall!"
It goes without saying that the post was commented upon by thousands of gamers with remarks like the following:
"Is the ending going to have colored choices as well?"
"The Reapers always stomp you into the ground at round 10 just because."
"Does it contain the real ending?"
"I guess it's like normal Risk but when it's time to decide who won you haver three choices and all of them suck… AMIRITE?"
The responses range from the unkind, as the above, to the ambivalent, and even the ecstatic. Hey, at least it's not FarmVille Monopoly.
