Nintendo has announced that three of its biggest staple titles, Mario Kart, Kirby, and 3D Mario, are going to receive new games for their new console, the Wii U.
The studio had little to show of either Mario Kart Wii U or 3D Mario Wii U at the presser they held this morning, but stated that both games are going to be playable at the upcoming E3 2013. The event is set to take place later this year in June, and—assuming you’re not in-tune with the industry—is the biggest gaming event of the year.
Mario Kart Wii U will deliver a much needed HD update to the series, and serve as the series’ first foray onto the Wii U. No further details than that were released.
As for the 3D Mario title, it’s being developed at Nintendo EAD Tokyo, which created Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. If it’s not one of the biggest games this year, we’re going to eat our (metaphorical) hats.
Finally, the developers of Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Good Feel, have announced that they are developing a brand new Yoshi title for the Wii U.
