Castlevania: Mirror of Fate Is 20 Hours Long, Offers ‘Intense Whip Combat’

January 22, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

The upcoming Castlevania game for the 3DS is a lengthy one.

Namco Bandai has put together a new trailer for its upcoming Castlevania game. Titled Castlevania: Mirror of Fate, the game is set for release on March 8 and is exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS. Like its predecessors for the DS, the game is not expected to see release on any other platforms.

According to the game trailer, the game, which is developed by Mercurysteam, is expected to contain over 20 hours of gameplay.

One of the game's biggest draws is its "intense whip combat", which makes full use of physics. It also aids in the game's platforming, of which the game heavily consists as players traverse through Dracula's labyrinthine castle complex.

In the game, players take on the role of Trevor Belmont, who is on a quest to destroy his father, Dracula, who was once Gabriel Belmont. Later parts of the game put players in the shoes of Simon Belmont and Alucard as the game is set to span over multiple time periods. It's designed as a prelude to the upcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.
