Corsair Glaive RGB Gaming Mouse Review

September 23, 2017 by Dennis Patrick

Corsair’s new Glaive RGB mouse may be just what PC gamers are asking for.

Corsair is a well-known company that has brought out a number of great peripherals for gaming PC systems to components for custom builds. With that said, Corsair may not be the first company name to pop up when it comes to gaming mice, but that may soon start to change.

Recently, the company has put out their latest gaming mouse into the market called the Glaive RGB. Priced competitively with some of the other popular gaming mice choices such as the Razer DeathAdder and the Logitech G Pro, this could be your next big purchase for your gaming battlestation.

Obviously, due to its name, consumers should be well informed that there’s an emphasis on RGB lighting. In fact, there are three zones of RGB lighting, all of which seems to hold up rather well with little to no lighting leaks. However, what some may not find to be as noteworthy is the name Glaive.

Glaive’s are a European polearm weapon, which features a single-edged blade with a few extra decorative edges attached alongside the main blade. Much like the Glaive weapon, Corsair has featured the Glaive RGB with extra interchangeable sidings that can be tweaked to your liking.

Essentially this is a semi-modular gaming mouse where gamers can take off the siding to adjust their thumb rest to their preference. Best of all, the siding for the Corsair Glaive is magnetic and that’s a big plus in our books. You won’t have to deal with plastic pieces constantly being clipped or unclipped, likewise, you won’t have to bust out any extra tools to make adjustments.

All-in-all, the Corsair Glaive RGB is a decently sized mouse so no one should have any trouble fitting their hand on the mouse and using whatever grip they are most comfortable with. We’re looking at a gaming mouse measuring 3.6W by 4.95L.

Your standard left click, right click, and the clickable scroll wheel is present. Just below the scroll wheel will be the DPI setting option with LED lighting indicating what profile has been selected. There are also two side buttons which can definitely be of use during gameplay sessions.

Speaking of DPI, the gaming mouse does include a Pixart 3367 sensor that can have a DPI of up to 16,000 or it can be cranked down to just 100.

We’re glad to make note that the Corsair Glaive has a nice feel to it with both sides having a textured grip. Depending on what model you select, there is a standard black edition along with an aluminum option. Again, the left siding of the mouse can interchange with a few different supplied thumb rests with Corsair supplying a total of three options.

All-in-all, the Corsair Glaive RGB is a decent option to run with if you’re already in the market for a gaming mouse, especially if you’re looking for a slightly larger mouse than what most competitors toss out into the market.

Likewise, with the added benefit of RGB lighting, the Pixart 3367 sensor, and lastly, the magnetic thumb rests would make the Corsair Glaive RGB a tough deal to pass up for $69.99.

Full Disclosure: A unit was supplied by Corsair for purposes of this review.
